SPFG: Security and Privacy in Future Generation Services

Special Session on

Security and Privacy in Future Generation Services

 organized in conjunction with

 The 6th International Conference on

Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications ( IISA 2015 )

 July 06 – 08, 2015

Ionian University, Corfu, Greece

The realization of ubiquitous computing through smart & context aware, mobile devices and wearables, in conjunction with the evolution of Web technologies and services, have turned typical users into prosumers, as they no longer simply consume information but they produce it as well. Simultaneously, the fast urbanization is pushing towards the development of infrastructures for smart cities where several aspects are being automated, from on-demand resource allocation, to traffic management and from smart homes to smart grids. In this highly interconnected “big data” world, a plethora of novel, collaborative and interactive services continuously arise, leading to massive production, storage and analysis of information, with the support of cloud computing and data analysis technologies. While these services can drastically improve the quality of our daily lives, there are many who are skeptical due to their security and privacy challenges. This Special Session is devoted to providing a venue for researchers, security and privacy practitioners to exchange ideas on introducing or improving current state of the art tools and/or methodologies for the security and privacy of present and future generation electronic services.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

■      Security and privacy in context –aware services

■      Privacy-preservation in Location-Based Services

■      Enhancing security and privacy for cloud-based applications

■      Privacy and security in Geosocial applications
